Season Highlights
Chestnut Thrush
Song, as with many other thrushes, varies individually, but usually consists of short, breathy individual phrases, often whistled. Gives slick “tsk, tsk” in alarm, as well as hard rattling calls.[Source: e-bird]

Yellow billed blue magpie
They frequently feed on the ground and adopt a hopping gait, with the tail held high to prevent it from touching the ground. They live in parties of seven or eight birds and are highly territorial.[Source: Wikipedia]

Daurian Redstart
Active and attractive songbird of open spaces. Frequently bobs the orange-sided dark tail. Song is a lively, jingling cascade of warbling; calls include a short, high-pitched whistle and a hard “tsak.”[Source: e-bird]

Coal Tit
While searching for food, coal tit flocks keep contact with incessant short dee or see-see calls. The species' song – if "song" it can be called – is a strident if-he, if-he, if-he, heard most frequently from January to June, but also in autumn.

White Collared Blackbird
This aptly-named species has a bright white collar, which is its most notable field mark. Like most other blackbirds, males are predominantly black while females are dark brown.

Guess Me Right
Fellow birders, can you guess the bird by just listening to the calls or sounds it makes?

Here's a hint: I am not a Robin
Birding Trails
We are, by nature, a haven for a delightful variety of bird species — some, our familiar neighbours, visit us often; others, more distinguished guests, grace our skies during special occasions — especially the sacred nuptials. But ah, how fortunate we are to have their presence among us!
